While Bilt Members can use any debit or credit card to earn points and access their benefits, Bilt has partnered with Mastercard and Wells Fargo to create the Bilt Mastercard®, the first and only credit card that lets you pay rent and earn points without the transaction fee
What's the role?
As our Senior Director, Creative Operations, you'll be the connective tissue of our creative function. You'll own how design requests come in, get prioritized, and get shipped, so every designer knows what matters most and every stakeholder knows what to expect. You'll also stay hands-on. This role is for a designer at heart who still wants to be in the files, setting the quality bar through the work itself, while building the processes that let a growing creative team scale without losing craft. And you'll have a seat at the table on creative vision, partnering with leadership across Brand, Marketing, Product, and our business pods on where our creative goes next. This is a rare chance to build the creative operating system for a fast-moving company while still making things. Experience in-house at a consumer, fintech, or lifestyle brand is a plus.
In this role, you will…
- Own the front door for all design requests: build and run an intake process so every ask is scoped, tracked, and visible in one place
- Set and communicate priorities with stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Growth, and our business pods
- Manage capacity across designers, freelancers, and agency partners so the right person is on the right work at the right time
- Keep the creative team aligned day to day through clear ownership, status visibility, and regular check-ins
- Build the playbooks that help us scale: briefs, review and approval flows, turnaround expectations, asset organization, and handoff standards
- Stay hands-on as a designer on high-visibility and time-sensitive projects, from concept through final delivery
- Art direct campaigns, launches, and partner work, giving sharp, constructive feedback that raises the quality bar across the team
- Protect brand consistency by maintaining the templates, guidelines, and design systems the team uses every day
- Translate business goals into creative direction the team can run with, and bring a point of view on where our brand and visual identity should go next
- Track throughput, turnaround time, and demand, and use that data to make the case for headcount, tooling, and process changes
- Partner with leadership on creative strategy, tools, budget, and hiring plans
What you'll bring
Must Have:
- 8+ years in graphic design, art direction, or creative production, including 2+ years leading or coordinating the work of other designers
- A strong portfolio showing real craft and range across brand, digital, social, and marketing design
- A track record of building or improving creative workflows at a fast-moving company, in-house or agency
- Fluency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite, and comfort jumping into the files yourself
- Experience with work management tools (Asana, Notion, Monday, Jira, or similar) and the instinct to make them work for designers
- Experience managing competing priorities across many stakeholders while keeping relationships strong
- Clear, direct communication, including feedback that makes both the work and the person better
- Comfort operating across ambiguity: you'll be building the process as much as running it
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with freelancers or agencies
- Experience building or maintaining brand guidelines or a design system
- Familiarity with motion, video, or AI-assisted creative tools
- Experience managing a creative budget
