We're working with a profitable, hypergrowth YC-backed startup building the operating system for grant-funded organizations. Over 5,500 nonprofits use the platform to find, win, and manage grants, and collectively they've moved more than $1 billion through it. The company is doubling year over year with an NPS above 65.

This role owns GrantOS: the foundational platform layer that every other product area sits on top of.

The Mission

Billions in grant funding are still managed in spreadsheets. This company is replacing that infrastructure with a single intelligent platform that connects every stage of the grant lifecycle. The people using it are doing some of the most important work in the country, and they deserve tools that match it.

The Role

• Lead end-to-end design for GrantOS: the data layer, core tooling, and system infrastructure the whole product is built on
• Define the interaction patterns and design system foundations that every other product area inherits
• Drive zero-to-one product development in genuinely greenfield spaces where the problem isn't fully defined yet
• Conduct and synthesize user research independently, translating ambiguous needs into clear product direction
• Raise the quality bar across the design system and act as a force multiplier for the broader team

What They're Looking For

• 8+ years of product design experience with meaningful time at senior or staff level
• Owned entire product domains end to end, not just shipped features within them
• Systems thinker: data models, permissions, integration surfaces, interaction patterns that compound across a product
• Zero-to-one track record: started from a problem, not a spec
• Startup-shaped: brings their own structure, moves fast, doesn't wait for process to be handed to them
• Already using AI tools in their design practice
